Match fixing returns

Friday, February 29, 2008

Indian police are experts in the investigation of match fixing in cricket. Yes, its true, match fixing has started to show its ugly face again. The man caught this time is West Indies all rounder Marlon Samuels. It has been confirmed that Marlon Samuels exchanged match information with the bookie Kochar. He leaked information about pitch condition, batting lineup etc. Kochar has a close relationship with Dawood Ibrahim. It’s not sure whether he intentionally underperformed in that match. Now ICC has asked WICB to undergo an investigation in this matter. The point to be noted in this is that last week, Marlon Samuels was suspended from bowling in international cricket matches by ICC as the off break conditions of his bowling exceeded the limit fixed by ICC.
